Dear new owner, I’m so excited that you have welcomed me into your home, here are a few tips on how to take care of me.

COATS

I may be a little wrinkly when I first arrive at your home (This is due to being in transport for a few days). In that case, just hang me up and in no longer than 24-48 hrs, my creases will fade. My fur will fluff up and I will be picture ready!

If you cannot wait that long to wear me and show me off, I wouldn’t mind being steamed down to speed up the process.

When I get dirty and you think it’s time for a good clean, please take me to a good dry cleaner. I suggest one that has many good reviews or one you have tried and tested. If you live in London, you can visit our personal favorite, which is the award-winning, eco-friendly BLANC dry cleaners.

If you dirty me in one spot or area, there’s no need to wash me entirely! Just take a damp cloth with an appropriate fabric stain remover and dap over the spill.

If I have been in the rain or snow, shake off any excess water and brush me with your fingers only. Hang me to dry completely and use broad hangers to keep my shape intact and without stress. Towel drying, blow-drying, or brushing with tools will only harm my integrity.

MINK

I ask for a little bit more attention. As I want to last you a lifetime, please send me to a mink coat specialist (yes, such people to exist) to have me cleaned.

If I have been in the rain or snow, shake off any excess water and brush me with your fingers only. Hang me to dry completely and use broad hangers to keep my shape intact and without stress. Towel drying, blow-drying, or brushing with tools will only harm my integrity.

Note: Look into your area for professional furriers, or cleaning specialists that you can send me off to. They would have pieces of equipment not available to the general public to get me professionally cleaned. If you purchased me in white, a furrier can apply special whitening agents.

CASHMERE

Step 1

You can either use the hand-wash cycle on your machine or hand-wash me in a large bucket. Please add a scoop of cashmere detergent. If your machine doesn't have a hand-wash or 'gentle' cycle, button me up inside a pillowcase and put it on a cold wash.

To dry me, lay me out to dry flat on a towel. Don't wring or twist me as I come out of the wash. Squeeze me gently instead, to ensure I don't lose my shape.

Step 3

Moths love me, particularly when I have moisture in my fibers, so to store me safely, make sure I am totally dry. Then fold up and store in zip-lock- hangers may tend to stretch me out.
